Try this yoga move that makes your whole body work hard.
WARRIOR III
This dynamic yoga pose will stretch your quads and
hamstrings and strengthen your legs, back, shoulders and arms, while expanding
your lungs, chest and shoulders, too. It also tones and invigorates your whole
body, builds stability and strengthens your pelvis and spine.
HOW TO DO IT
Stand up tall in mountain pose, with your feet together and
your arms down by your sides.
Step your left foot back, keeping your weight on your right
foot.
Place your hands on your hips and lift your left foot behind
you as you lean your torso forwards from your hips.
Focus your gaze straight down onto the mat as you flex
forwards from the hips, lengthening both legs, without locking the knee of your
standing leg.
Make sure your hips are level, then take your hands off your
hips and stretch your arms forwards, in line with your torso.
Turn your palms to face each other, so your shoulder blades
can draw down away from your ears, and breathe slowly as you balance in the
stretch for five to ten breaths.
Slowly lift your chest and place your left foot back on the
ground as you lower your arms to the start position.
Repeat on the other leg.
